History: This church founded by the Franciscans was built by the villagers in 1676 and was opened for service on 26.7.1676. The cemetery was enlarged in 1998.

Architectural notes:

• Mannerist Neo-Roman style
• Large size, 3 bays x 3 storeys
• Main door has bracketed arch
• Frontispiece has Rococo curves flanking a broken pediment which frames a relief of the Sacred Heart
• Spear finials top the frontispiece
• Twin bell towers with balusters and finials of urn type
