Sao Pedro Church

History: This is a very old church erected about the year 1543, as one of the eight parish churches of the old City of Goa, besides the Cathedral Parish. It is today the only survivor. It was built at the cost of the public treasury by workmen from Portugal.
Architectural notes:
• Early Neo-Roman style, large size
• Fronton of peaked gable with oculus which has been closed
• Façade is devoid of ornamentation
• Large two-storeyed bell tower to the left
• Finials of spear-and-ball type
• Large porch with tiled sloping roof
