Ram Navami is celebrated as the birth day of Lord Rama, and is a major Hindu festival, celebrated all over the country by Hindus. The birthday of Rama is observed on the night of the of the light half of the month Chetra ( March, April ). In Goa many temples offer food to devotees on this day. At noon ramas idol is put in a cradle and devotees rock the same and songs from Ramayan are sung.Neivadya on this occasion consists of coconut powdered mixed with sugar.
