Santa Isable de Portugal Church

History: This Rectorate was dedicated to St. Elizabeth, Queen of Portugal. It was founded either in 1621 or 1624. The construction of the original church commenced in 1621 and completed in 1628. A storm destroyed the church in 1718 and in the same year, the church was reconstructed to greater dimensions.
Architectural notes:
• Mannerist style with Rococo features
• Large size, 4 bays x 3 storeys
• Rococo curved gable with crown mounted above icon
• Balconies for windows in second storey
• Pilasters unbroken by cornice
• Finials of urn, bud and spear types
• Single bell tower to the left with balustrade
