| The Palácio
do Deão is a 213 year old historical palace in Quepem (14
kms from Margao), on the banks of the beautiful Kushavati River.
It was built by a Portuguese nobleman who was Dean of the Church
and the founder of Quepem town. It is built in an unusual style
of architecture, blending Hindu and Portuguese cultures. Equally
romantic are its lush gardens, which have been wonderfully preserved
and have been known as the most beautiful pleasure gardens in
Goa. The belvedere and the altar of the Palácio strike
an interesting note.
