| The Church
of St. Cajetan at Old Goa was built between 1656-1661, by the
monks of the Theatine Order, who adopted St. Peter’s in
Rome as the model for this church. Dedicated to Our Lady of Divine
Providence, it is also referred to as St. Cajetan’s Church.
Designed by the Italian architects Carlo Ferrarini and Francesco
Maria Milazzo, it sought to reflect the very glory and splendor
of heaven above.
