Elevated: 1604Â Â Â Â Â Feast: 2nd Sunday of November
History: The Church was founded in 1604 and covered the villages of Guirim, Sangolda and the valley of Porvorim. The work of renewal was undertaken around about 1675. The church was reapaired again in 1703 with the addition of two towers.
Architectural notes:
• Mannerist Neo-Roman style
• Large size, 5 bays x 4 storeys
• Engaged columns with Corinthianized capitals give monumental look
• Four oculii flank central arfched window
• Corner pilasters have multiple mouldings
• Twin bell towers, finials of urn and stacked-pot types
