Founded: 1607Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Feast: 8th December

History: Erected in 1607, the parish church of Carmona was originally part of the Jesuits Novitiate House which existed there at that time. The Novitiate house is now the parochial residence. Renovation of the church commended in 2004.

Architectural Notes:

• Mannerist Neo-Roman style
• Large size, 5 bays x 3 storeys
• Sequence of Arch-Rectangle-Oculus-Relief
• Frontispiece with oculus and pediment
• Single bell tower to left
• Finials of ball, spear-and-ball and urn types
• Main arched door framed by fluted Corinthianized columns
